DWI Crash Arrest

On March 29th, 2018 at approximately 10:17 PM, deputies responded to the 1400 block of Elmira Road (State Route 13) in the Town of Newfield for a report of a two car motor vehicle crash with serious physical injuries.  Upon arrival, deputies observed a black Ford truck and a Toyota SUV that had struck one another head on.  Deputies identified the driver of the Ford truck as GARY M. STOW, age 37 of Horseheads, NY.  Through further investigation, deputies determined that STOW was intoxicated and arrested STOW.

STOW was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Uninspected Motor Vehicle, Failed to Keep Right and Moved From Lane Unsafely.  STOW was arraigned and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail.  STOW is to return to the Town of Newfield Court on April 5th, 2018 at 1:00 PM.  The occupants from the Toyota SUV were transported to Sayre, PA by ambulance.  No further names are being given at this time as the incident is still under investigation.

The New York State Police, New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Team, Bangs Ambulance and Newfield Fire Company assisted at the scene.  Elmira Road was reopened on March 30th, 2018 at 3:20 AM.
