DWI Arrest

On June 22nd, 2019 at around 1:53 AM, Tompkins County Sheriff's Deputies were patrolling Auburn Road in the Town of Lansing.  While on patrol, Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a GMC Yukon after observing an equipment violation.  Deputies interviewed the driver, Chandler P. BENSON, age 42 of Lansing, NY.  During the course of their interview, deputies observed signs of impairment and conducted a DWI Investigation which resulted in BENSONS arrest for Driving While Intoxicated.


BENSON was charged with No/Insufficient Tail Lamp (traffic infraction), Refusal to Take Breath Test (traffic infraction) and Driving While Intoxicated (unclassified misdemeanor).  BENSON was released on traffic tickets directing him to return to the Town of Lansing Court on July 23rd, 2019 at 5:00 PM.
