Burglary/Larceny Arrest

On June 30th, 2018 at about 6:18 PM, deputies responded to the Tops Store located at 2303 North Triphammer Road in the Village of Lansing for a reported larceny in progress. Loss prevention staff reportedly observed a subject steal items from the store, conceal them in a large purse, and exit the store. Upon arrival, Deputies tracked the suspect to a nearby motel. The suspect was identified as CHARLES L LEWIS JR (Age 37 of Ithaca). LEWIS had previously been banned from all Tops Stores from a prior larceny charge. LEWIS was charged with Burglary in the 3rd Degree and Petit Larceny. He was arraigned in the Town of Lansing Court and remanded to the jail in lieu of $1000 cash bail or $2000 insured bond.
