DWI Arrest

On June 1st, 2019 at about 1:10 AM, deputies from the Tompkins County Sheriff's Office observed a vehicle parked on the shoulder of East Shore Drive near Blackchin Blvd in the Town of Lansing.  The vehicle was running with its four ways on, and one of the occupants was was attempting to urinate along the shoulder of the road. The driver of the vehicle was identified as CHELSEA B. SWEARINGEN, age 28 of Lansing, NY.  Subsequent to an investigation, SWEARINGEN was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.  She indicated that she pulled over to the shoulder of the road because her passenger had become ill.  The passenger appeared intoxicated as well and was provided with a courtesy transport to a safe location.

SWEARINGEN was charged with Driving while intoxicated and Driving while intoxicated with 0.08% BAC or More.  She was later released with an appearance ticket and is set to appear in the Town of Lansing Court on June 25th, 2019 at 5:00 PM.
