Felony DWI Arrest

On May 17th, 2019 at about 1:10 AM, the Tompkins County Sheriff's Office stopped a Subaru on East Shore Drive in the Town of Lansing for operating without tail lamps or head lamps. The driver was identified as KRISTEN L AVERY (Age 28 of Newfield). Subsequent to an investigation, AVERY was found to be intoxicated. Deputies also located an open container of alcohol, a quantity of Marijuana, and a controlled substance inside the vehicle. AVERY was charged with Driving While Intoxicated (D felony), Driving While Intoxicated with 0.08% BAC or More (D felony), Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Consumption Alcohol in Motor Vehicle, No head lamps, and No tail lamps. AVERY was arraigned in the Ithaca Town Court and was released on her own recognizance.
