Drug Arrest

On March 8th, 2019 at about 11:45 PM, the Tompkins County Sheriff's Office responded to a local establishment at 3120 North Triphammer Road in the Town of Lansing for an assault.  Deputies recognized an uninvolved party to the assault as a person with an active warrant.  The party was indentified as ANTHONY J BEEMAN (Age 34 of Groton).  BEEMAN held two separate warrants, one with the Village of Groton Police Department and one with the New York State Police.

After taking BEEMAN into custody, a search of his person yielded a glass pipe and a container holding a white powder.  The powder was subsequently tested and confirmed to be cocaine.  BEEMAN was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree.  He was processed and issued an appearance ticket.  He is set to appear in the Town of Lansing Court on March 19th, 2019 at 5:00 PM to answer this charge.  Deputies turned BEEMAN over to Groton Police to execute their warrant.
