Tompkins County Housing Needs Assessment Public Meeting September 6th

Monday, August 29, 2016

The Tompkins County Planning Department invites members of the community to a public meeting to learn about the findings from the Tompkins County Housing Needs Assessment.

The meeting will take place Tuesday, September 6, 2016, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM, at the Tompkins County Public Library Borg Warner Room, 101 E. Green Street, Ithaca. Results of the Downtown Ithaca Alliance’s Downtown Ithaca Housing Market Study also will be presented at the meeting.

The consultant assisting with both the Tompkins County Housing Needs Assessment and the Downtown Ithaca Housing Market Study will present findings from fieldwork, surveys, interviews, and other data collection efforts undertaken to understand current housing needs and to project future needs. Documents pertaining to the Tompkins County Housing Needs Assessment project are available at the County Planning Department website at http://tompkinscountyny.gov/planning/housing-needs.

The Tompkins County Housing Needs Assessment will inform updating of the Tompkins County Housing Strategy. Public engagement opportunities to begin to develop the Housing Strategy update are expected to begin this fall.

For more information, or to request assistance if you are a person with a disability who requires special arrangements to fully participate in the meeting, please contact the Planning Department at 607-274-5560.
