Second Public Input Meeting on Pine Tree Road Improvements, Monday, December 20

Tuesday, December 14, 2010
On Monday, December 20, the Tompkins County Highway Division, along with the Town of Ithaca and Cornell University, will host its second public information meeting regarding a project to improve pedestrian and bicycle accommodations along Pine Tree Road, between Maple Avenue and Route 366 (Dryden Road).

The meeting will begin at 5:45 p.m., at the Trinity Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 149 Honness Lane.

The County and its consultants will present their preferred alternative for the project, as well as how project design has incorporated public concerns received since the first meeting was held last June.

These concerns include speed and volume of existing traffic on Pine Tree Road and the possibility of increased truck traffic due to removal of clearance restrictions at the former railroad overpass. Construction is planned for 2011. Work will be completed with 72% Federal funding.

For more information, please contact John Lampman, at the Tompkins County Highway Division, 170 Bostwick Road, Ithaca, NY 14850, (607) 274-0307, or e-mail at jlampman@tompkins-co.org.
