Residents Urged to Do Their Part to Help with Recycling Collection

Friday, January 25, 2019

The Tompkins County Department of Recycling and Materials Management is reminding residents of what they can do to help reduce delays in curbside recycling collection during inclement weather.

Please make sure all recycling bins are clear of snow and ice and that containers are placed as close to the curb as possible, but NOT on the sidewalk. This is particularly true for the City of Ithaca, to prevent collectors from having to negotiate snow banks or other obstacles between the street and sidewalk.

The City of Ithaca will have recycling pick up next week for the first time since last weekend’s winter storm Harper.
