The Department of Recycling & Materials Management and Recycling & Solid Waste Center are closed Monday for Memorial Day. No curbside recycling collection. Collections delayed by one day rest of the week.

Daily closures Fisher Settlement Road to the Tioga County line for several road crossing pipe replacements, Road will be closed to all through traffic.

Next week, the County Office for the Aging's Spring "Powerful Tools for Caregivers" classes start. Advance registration is required. If you are someone you know is trying to balance caregiving for a spouse, parent or other relative with self-care and other life responsibilities, consider enrolling in one of the following two classes, each running for six weeks:

Wednesdays, April 26 through May 31
6:30 -8:00 PM
Held at the Greater Ithaca Activities Center (GIAC), 301 W. Court St., Ithaca


Thursdays, May 4 through June 8
1:00-2:30 PM
Held at Kendal at Ithaca, 2230 N. Triphammer Rd., Ithaca
