NYSDEC Stormwater Annual Report for the Tompkins County Stormwater Coalition Now Available for Review and Comment

Monday, June 8, 2015

The annual report for Tompkins County’s Stormwater Coalition is now available for review and comment. Members of the public are invited to ask questions and provide comments on the 2014-2015 annual report at the June 15thmeeting of the Tompkins County Water Resources Council. This meeting will be held at the Ithaca Tompkins Transit Center (737 Willow Ave.) and will begin at 4:15 p.m.

In accordance with the NYSDEC State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) permit requirements for storm water discharges from small municipal separate storm sewer systems (MS4s), Tompkins County and nine municipalities within the County are required to develop, implement, and enforce a storm water management program designed to reduce the discharge of pollutants from municipal-owned storm sewer systems. The annual report describes the ten municipalities’ progress in implementing this program.

Web link to the report is available at www.tcstormwater.org.  Copies of the annual report are available in the Tompkins County Planning Department, 121 E. Court Street in Ithaca. For more information, please contact Angel Hinickle at the Tompkins County Soil and Water Conservation District at 257-2340 or angelhinickle@tcswcd.org
