A reminder from the Department of Recycling and Materials Management

Most municipalities in Tompkins County have programs for recycling holiday trees and wreaths. Contact your city, town, or village for more information, or check the list that can be found on the home page of the Department of Recycling and Materials Management’s website,

Christmas trees and wreaths can also be brought to the yard waste area of the Tompkins County Recycling and Solid Waste Center (160 Commercial Ave. in Ithaca) at no charge to residents. Please remove all decorations and support wires.
