Draft Request for Proposals, Tompkins County Law Enforcement Shared Services Initiative

Wednesday, June 29, 2016

The Draft Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Tompkins County Law Enforcement Shared Services Initiative (police consolidation study) will be presented to the Tompkins County Legislature by County Administrator Joe Mareane at the Legislature’s meeting July 5th.

Through a Request for Proposals (once finalized), Tompkins County government, in cooperation with the City of Ithaca and the villages of Cayuga Heights, Groton, and Dryden, will invite interested and qualified consulting firms to submit proposals to conduct the feasibility study, examining the potential  for shared services or realignment involving local law enforcement agencies, including Tompkins County and the City of Ithaca.  A $50,000 New York State shared services grant has been awarded to support the study, under Governor Cuomo’s Municipal Restructuring Fund Program.

The draft RFP document is posted for review at http://www.tompkinscountyny.gov/files2/ctyadmin/Draft_RFP_TC_LawEnfSharedServicesInitiative.pdf.
