Donation Drop Spot Open 9:00am – Noon at Town Highway Department

Finger Lakes ReUse and Tompkins County Recycling and Materials Management will be at the Dryden Town Highway Department (61 East Main Street in Dryden) on Saturday, June 16th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM to accept donations of reusable items and materials.
The ‘donation drop spot’ will run concurrently with the weekly Dryden food scraps recycling drop spot operated by Tompkins Recycling and Materials Management, addressing two growing areas in the sustainable waste management field.

Acceptable Donations Include:
●      Furniture
●      Building Materials
●      Housewares
●      Appliances (Refrigerators, Dehumidifiers and Air Conditioners NOT accepted at this event)
●      Electronics
●      CDs, DVDs and VHS
●      Books
●      Desktop and Laptop Computers (No CRT monitors)
●      Clothing, Shoes and Accessories

All donated items must be complete, clean and in useable condition. Donations to Finger Lakes ReUse, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, may be tax deductible and receipts will be available.
Large-volume donations should be arranged with Finger Lakes ReUse directly.
“A ‘pilot’ donation drop spot was held in Dryden last November in conjunction with America Recycles Day and it was an overwhelming success,” said Seth Dennis, a Waste Reduction and Recycling Specialist for Tompkins County. “This year, we plan to partner with Finger Lakes Reuse to offer these donation drop spots in other parts of the County.”

“In addition to accepting donations seven days a week at our two ReUse Centers, we’re excited to provide another convenient way for community members to support our mission while giving away items they don’t need anymore,” added Chris Pletcher, Director of Business Services at Finger Lakes ReUse. “Tompkins Recycling & Materials Management has been a key and founding partner of ReUse, and we look forward to working with them at this and future events.”
