Creative Self-Care for Caregivers

Friday, February 20, 2015

A free workshop titled "Creative Self-care for Caregivers" will be presented by Emily Millen, LCAT, to family caregivers of older adults on Thursday, March 5,  6:30 PM- 8:00 PM at the Tompkins County Office for the Aging, 214 W. Martin Luther King, Jr./State Street, Ithaca.

Ms. Millen, a certified art therapist, will discuss self-care practices that are most soothing to the nervous system and then lead participants into an image-making experience that will help them access a deeply creative, rejuvenating state that allows for respite from thinking, planning and multitasking.   Participants will leave the workshop with a meaningful personal healing image and a process they can use as needed to access this intuitive, restful place.

Register for the workshop by calling the Office for the Aging, 274-5492, or email dstoyell@tompkins-co.org.
