Chair Robertson Orders Flags Flown at Half-Staff After Connecticut Shooting

Friday, December 14, 2012
Tompkins County Legislature Chair Martha Robertson has directed that all County flags be lowered to half-staff in memory of nearly 30 people killed in today's tragic school shooting in at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. Reports indicate 20 of the victims were children.

"We grieve with the families of Sandy Hook at this unimaginable act," said Chair Robertson. "No person is born a killer. We must rededicate ourselves to changing whatever conditions conspired to create this horrific chain of events."
