Broadcast Forum on the 2011 Tompkins County Budget Tuesday, October 12

Saturday, October 9, 2010
On Tuesday, October 12, residents will have an opportunity to learn about the 2011 Tompkins County budget and the fiscal challenges the County faces as it prepares for next year, in an hour-long broadcast forum on WHCU Radio, 870 AM and on 95.9FM in Ithaca.

The forum, featuring County Administrator Joe Mareane and Legislator Jim Dennis, chair of the Legislature's budget committee, will be aired live, from 7:00-8:00 a.m., on WHCU's Morning Newswatch program, hosted by Dave Vieser.

Residents are invited to submit budget-related questions in advance via e-mail, to dave@whcu870.com.

The forum comes as legislators, acting as an Expanded Budget Committee, enter their fifth week of deliberations on the 2011 budget. After hearing presentations from departments and County-funded agencies over the past several weeks, on Thursday, October 14 legislators will begin recommending changes to the Tentative Budget prepared by County Administrator Mareane.

For more information on the upcoming broadcast forum, contact Tompkins County Public Information at 274-5555 or the radio station at 257-6400.
