Annual Tompkins County Water Taste Test to Celebrate Water Week: May 7-13, 2017

The Tompkins County Health Department is celebrating National Drinking Water Week by hosting the annual water taste test on Sunday, April 30, from 1:00 p.m.to 5:00 p.m. at Streets Alive! on Cayuga Street and Lewis Street. Throughout the day the public is welcome to sample water from the seven municipal water supplies in Tompkins County and rate the best tasting water. Demonstrations of specialized monitoring and inspection equipment, interactive activities, hands-on displays, and other water-related and general Health Department information will be available.

To complement Streets Alive!, tours can be scheduled for the week of May 7-13 with the Bolton Point Water System (277-0660), the Cornell Water Filtration Plant (255-3381), and the Cayuga Heights Wastewater Treatment Plant (273-4461). Please call to make arrangements.

Additionally, the Community Science Institute (CSI) will be offering Lab Tours during Water Week. Please contact info@communityscience.org.
