21st Annual Tompkins County Water Week & Water Taste Test

The Tompkins County Department of Environmental Health is celebrating National Drinking Water Week by hosting a taste test on Sunday, May 3, from 1:00 p.m.to 5:00 p.m. at the Streets Alive!event on Cayuga Street in Ithaca.  Throughout the day representatives from local municipalities, citizens’ organizations, and non-profits will be providing the 21stannual drinking water taste test. 

Demonstrations of specialized monitoring and inspection equipment, interactive activities, hands-on displays, and lots of water-related information will also be available.  Please visit the Tompkins County Health Department's website at www.tompkinscountyny.gov/health/eh for more detailed and updated information. 

To complement the Streets Alive event, tours can be scheduled for the week of May 4– 8 with the Bolton Point Water System (277-0660), the City of Ithaca Drinking Water Plant (273-4680), the Cornell Drinking Water Plant (255-3381), and the Cayuga Heights Sewage Treatment Plant (273-4461).  Please call to make arrangements.
