“Successful Entrepreneurship” Panel Discussion September 14th

Wednesday, August 31, 2016

Tompkins Workforce New York and Alternatives Federal Credit Union are teaming up to spotlight local entrepreneurs and the successes, challenges and resources that have led them to realize their dreams.

The “Successful Entrepreneurship” panel discussion will be held Wednesday, September 14th, Noon-2:00 p.m., at the Tompkins County Public Library Borg Warner Room, 101 E. Green Street, Ithaca.

The program will provide the opportunity to hear from local entrepreneurs about the challenges and successes they’ve experienced, as well as the resources they have utilized, in the development of their businesses. Panelists come from varied backgrounds—in terms of experience, age, gender, and ethnicity, as well as the sectors and size of company or organization they represent. Much discussion will focus on individual stories and how the entrepreneurs financed their businesses.

The Panelists:

Michelle Courtney Berry, who manages two award-winning entrepreneurial ventures, Reiki Goddess and Courtney Consulting Enterprises, LLC, which are focused on reducing stress and bolstering the bottom line.

Brad Treat, founding CEO of Mezmeriz Inc.; former Entrepreneur-In-Residence at Cornell University; and co-founder and CEO of SightSpeed, Inc. Mr. Treat is an instructor in Practical Entrepreneurship at Ithaca College.

Anke Wessels, Executive Director of the Center for Transformative Action, affiliated with Cornell University, which provides education for, and fiscal sponsorship to social entrepreneurs with innovative non-profit ventures.
