Marcellus Shale Gas Drilling

2011-11-08:

Resolution on health impact: New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and local health departments should be funded to conduct baseline and ongoing studies to determine the impact of natural gas development on community health and the effects on individual health;

Resolution on local health department involvement: Tompkins County Board of Health requests that representatives from local health departments be directly involved in determining procedures, processes, and funding requirements for those aspects of gas drilling oversight that affect county health departments;

2009-12-08:

The Tompkins County Board of Health adopted a Resolution regarding the dSGEIS proposed by the NYSDEC at its regular meeting on December 8, 2009. The Resolution was sent to the NYSDEC to be included with the public comments being accepted by the NYSDEC through December 31, 2009. A copy of the Resolution is available here (PDF, 42K).

The Tompkins County Health Department, Environmental Health Division, submitted comments on the draft SGEIS for gas drilling in the Marcellus Shale to the NYSDEC to be included with the public comments being accepted by the NYSDEC through December 31, 2009. A copy of the comments is available here (PDF, 210K).
